International Human Rights Day

On this date in 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in response to the horrors of World War II. All human beings are entitled to basic rights and freedoms, the right to life and liberty, freedom of expression and equality before the law, the right to participate in culture, the right to get food, the right to work and the right to receive education.
