"Becas Estudia en Canadá"


La Fundación Amancio Ortega ha abierto el programa “Becas Estudia en Canadá”. Con él posibilitará que cien alumnos de 4º de ESO puedan realizar el curso equivalente a primero de Bachillerato en un instituto canadiense. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de convivir y aprender de otra cultura, además poder practicar el idioma inglés sin interrumpir sus estudios.
Se trata de una estancia con una duración de 10 meses con una familia local en Alberta, Ontario, Nueva Escocia o British Columbia.
Está destinado a excelentes estudiantes con escasos recursos económicos. La nota mínima para optar a la beca es de 8 puntos en la media de 3º de ESO y en la nota final de la asignatura de inglés en dicho curso.
La beca incluye la completa cobertura del curso académico, así como el seguimiento y el apoyo continuado durante su estancia, además de los billetes de ida y vuelta, el alojamiento en la familia, la manutención y un seguro médico y de accidente.

Writing

  A Few Points to Keep in Mind  ( Use this as a check list)

ü      Use connectors to link your ideas logically and correctly. ( see list below )
ü      Use the appropriate style. Avoid contractions (don't/isn't/ hasn't etc)  in formal style.
ü      Use a varied vocabulary.
ü      Pay attention to the punctuation and to capital letters.
ü      Pay attention to the grammar.( For example, check the verbs, singular and plural, 3rd person singular -s, count and non-count nouns etc. )
ü      Don’t forget to skip a line between the different paragraphs.           
ü      While writing a draft, underline words or expressions you are not sure about.
ü      Rewrite (if necessary) and this time check with your dictionary.
ü      Count the words to see that you have not written less than you have to. Don't write more than you have to.
ü      Write legibly.
ü      NEVER hand in work without re-reading it carefully TWICE!!! (if you have time)
